"The Lucky Puppy" Coloring Book

lucky puppy coverThe Lucky Puppy, developed by the North Carolina Association for Biomedical Research and the Pennsylvania Society for Biomedical Research, remains one of PSBR's most popular publications. These coloring books have become an essential part of elementary grade units on pet care, and are also useful in helping children understand how animal research enables the veterinarian to keep their pets healthy. The booklet relies upon children's awareness of their pets to provide a context for learning about the value of research and the use of animal models. The book describes two children with an ailing puppy who visit their veterinarian; they learn about the dog and its condition, and about the research which helped their pet. All in language easy to understand, accompanied by simple but engaging graphics for second through fifth grader readers.
